The annual LCAHouston Winter Cover Reveal Party went off without a hitch on Tuesday, December 10, 2019 at Tootsies. Houston’s beloved Tootsies Creative Fashion Director Fady Armanious and LCAHouston Founder and editor-in-chief Ruchi Mukherjee hosted a marvelous party for guests that included the best conversation between friends and, of course, all the shopping a fashionista’s heart could desire. The evening consisted of light bites and champagne courtesy of Monarch Hospitality and Tootsies, and a short and sweet tribute to the winter edition’s ‘Cover Lady’ and local icon Hallie Vanderhider.

Mukherjee, who donned a striking deep copper sari for the evening’s affair, makes it her mission to keep her Indian heritage alive while at the same time recognizing distinguished community players from all backgrounds. Her publication has honored over 80 women at the annual LCAHouston International Mother’s Day Soirée, including cover star Ms. Vanderhider.
The LCAHouston brand is about bridging the gap between mainstream and ethnic communities, and the winter edition – The Power Edition – aims to showcase examples of South Asian power in our community and beyond.
The Power Edition contains an array of compelling pieces including a touching tribute to the late Deputy Sandeep Dhaliwal, an insider’s look into the atelier of designer Anna Sui, and LCAHouston’s Top Ten People of the Year 2019, which recognizes fellow journalist and CultureMap editor Steven Devadanam. Other notable Houstonians honored this year include Nicole Lassiter, Charles Johnson, Rehan Aslam, Sai Pidatala, Sue Habib, Melissa Williams Murphy, Dr. Alice Mao, Abbas Khan and Fady Armanious.
