In the heart of Houston’s philanthropic and cultural community, Tammie and Dr. Charles “Andy” Johnson have become synonymous with generosity, leadership, and love.

I still remember meeting the gorgeous Sneha Merchant, walking into a holiday party in Houston back in 2011, wearing a statement Burberry London plaid coat. Together, Sneha and Naushir (Nick) Merchant have made such a lasting impact—juggling philanthropy, parenting, careers, and most importantly, doing it all with incredible style.

I am Sikh, Punjabi Indian, born and raised in Canada. The area that I grew up in was heavily populated with South Asians, so being “brown” wasn’t exactly unique or different… at least I didn’t think it was at the time.

Project LION was so successful and revered for its strategy, it is now called LION FUND and its accomplishments will spread throughout all of INDIA!

These are challenging times, and the world is seeing the power of perseverance. LCAHouston International Society Magazine takes pride in featuring a myriad of diverse dynamic Houstonians that are working to shape Houston’s future in more ways than one.

Most people think of first responders as those who show up to help in their time of crisis. Like we hear, first responders are meeting the citizens we serve on their worst day.

Balancing challenging careers and busy social calendars, this pair does it all while keeping an eye on the real prize… each other.
