LCAHouston’s Top 10 Power Couples of the Year 2021!

The past year and half has given me a whole new perspective on love, life and what a power couple means. A ‘Power Couple’ are two individuals truly complete and successful in their own way and yet want a partner to share a fulfilling journey of love, respect, and betterment. As we wrap up another year gradually picking up speed after a pandemic, we are delighted to reveal our Annual LCAHouston Top 10 Power Couples of the Year!

Nicole & James Lassiter

 

Popularly known as beauty queen, Nicole has created quite an impact with her handbag collection, Creations By Nikki Lassiter, an unique handmade craftsmanship. Alongside a successful lawyer James Lassiter at Lassiter Law Firm, the couple copes with many life issues yet supporting several causes.

“I strongly believe to never go to bed angry and never be afraid to express your feelings with boundaries and from a place of love not anger,” adds Nicole.

Sneha & Naushir Merchant

This gorgeous couple always take our breath away and certainly the most stylish couple of Htown. Behind a stylish persona this power couple, Sneha and Naushir Merchant, oversee Eastpoint Noble 
Hospitality, Prime Noble Realty and Giant Sales, LLC, overseeing the growth 
and expansion of numerous properties, retail stores and hospitality in 
Houston TX.

Naushir and Sneha Merchant were born and raised in Mumbai, India in a family and community that believed that giving of one’s self, through time, material or intellectual ability for the relief of hardship, pain or ignorance can shape the social conscience and improve the human condition. Sneha’s mother was a paradigm of this belief – volunteering, donating and raising money to help those less privileged lead a better life. This handsome duo recently not only chaired the Operation Smile gala raising a whopping $275,000 but also made a trip to Guatemala to see the first hand impact that Operation Smile has on a child’s life and that has committed them to the cause for life.

This couple is the epitome of love and living by the notion of being there beside each other. Keith and Shawntell are philanthropists and entrepreneurs.

While Shawntell is Managing Partner of Trez Art and Wine Bistro (voted #1 wine bar by the Houston Chronicle) and CEO of SM Global Consulting (philanthropic branding and consulting company).

Keith McWilliams is Owner/Investor of Big Four Building Services and they are also co-owners of Infinity Cleaning Solutions.

Debbie & Rudy Festari

Festari For Men famed Debbie and Rudy Festari recently made headlines at their Annual ‘Celebrity’ Una Notte Italia gala event by setting a record for raising over $438,000.00 on behalf of Children at Risk. Every year popular sports celebrities along with prominent philanthropic gentlemen walk the runway for this gala event and this year we spotted Olympian great Carl Lewis, Simone Biles, Rachel and Jeff Bagwell, Francis and Tony Buzbee, Tina and Dan Silvestri, Dynamo stars Zarek Valentin and Tim Parker, Sabercats Rugby player Ken Nasoqeqe, and Houston Texans Jonathan Owen.

JJ & Amy Hollie

 

Woodlands sweethearts JJ and Amy Hollie are most certainly a power couple in their own right! Since he took up his role as CEO and president of The Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce in 2015, J.J. Hollie with his tall composed personality has seen immense economic growth in The Woodlands. Meanwhile Amy is the owner and operator of GuideU, a college preparation consulting company located in The Woodlands, TX.  Her mission is to work with families of students in the 8th through 12th grade to help them prepare for the college admissions process.

Owners of The Butler House in The Woodlands, Marina and Bryan created a restaurant that would bring families, relationships and their love for giving back to the community come true. Marina is the adventurer and Bryan brings the business mind and together they have created a fun restaurant which is known as ‘Home away from Home’.

Recently spotted at the Houston renowned Una Notte Festari For Men Gala event, four-time Olympic gold medalist Simone Biles was witnessed cheering for her boyfriend Jonathan Owens while he walked the runway for a good cause, Children At Risk.

Tony Buzbee & Frances Moody

For the first time in Houston Children’s Charity Gala history – close to 600 supporters left their black tie and ball gowns at their crib to show up in their true colors in cocktail and 80s glamour at The Post Oak Hotel where this power couple Chairs Frances Moody and Tony Buzbee spearheaded the effort that raised a record-breaking $2.8 million for Greater Houston’s underprivileged, abused, and disabled children. A newly married couple, renowned trial lawyer Tony Buzbee found his soulmate in Galveston beauty Frances Moody.

Laura Goodson & Magen Pastor

 

Laura is the Vice President of Environmental Sustainability Engineering/Consulting, also an artist and owner of The Cowboy Motel. Alongside partner Magen Pastor a Art Curator and also co-owner of The Cowboy Motel they make you believe in “Love triumphs all”.

Together they are fierce advocates and supporters of women in business and art and their goal in business is to create space for women to create, explore and succeed in spaces where doors were closed in the past.

“Ellevate others around you and you inevitability will lift your community,” shares Magen.

Laura & Dave Ward

Last but not the least, who doesn’t know the media tycoon Dave Ward? And most importantly the lady behind all the wonderful charity work: Mrs. Laura Ward. A true power couple who are there for each other while serving the community. While we all know that the Crime Stoppers of Houston Building is named after Dave Ward, recently Houston Children’s Charity CEO Laura Wards was surprised by the Leadership Award by Founder and Vice Chairman of the Board, Gary Becker on behalf of the founders and board members. In addition to receiving an award, the Child Life Room at Texas Children’s Cancer and Hematology Center Outpatient Clinic at the Mark Wallace Tower is renamed to: Laura S. Ward, Houston Children’s Charity Child Life Room.
