Lights, Camera, and Fashion X

Move over New York Fashion week, Houston’s fashion arena is on the steady rise of hosting some of the hottest new and seasoned designers for Houston Non-Profits. Fashion X, hosted its second year fashion extravaganza at River Oaks District with some of this year’s hottest in-store parties, gift bags, and runway shows on the October 4-6th weekend.

Each show honored one of Houston’s prominent Style Setters, and show cased designers from around the world. As the melting pot city, it was great to see designers such as Jaya Shukla, Miles David, Shusi, and many others strut their styles on elegantly, trendy dressed models. Global fashion found right here in the heart of Houston.

The evening was filled with cocktails and wine flowing, complimentary shopping discounts throughout ROD, and unlimited photo ops with photo booths and balloon walls. Can we talk about the benefits of having a live masseuse and facialists before the show? Sign me up!

Thursday night featured Style Setter Lori Raijman, founder of the Arts of Healing. Lori and her husband Isaac Raijman MD founded the Arts of Healing foundation to bring together art and medicine. The organization celebrates arts created by doctors and physicians themselves to raise funds for a multitude of medical challenges.

Friday night, we where graced by the closet of Donae Cangelosi Chramosta, our very own Vintage Contessa supporting Crime Stoppers of Houston. Sending down everything from a Dolce & Gabbana Sicilia Skirt, to classic Chanel Tweed, and Hermes accessories, her models showcased the looks effortlessly.

On the third and final night of this three-night event, Style Setter Alicia Smith with proceeds from the evening going to support SBP, a disaster relief fund founded in Louisiana’s St. Bernard Parish. Smith and her entourage held a beautiful show despite the temperature dropping half way through the show. With the lighted trees and gorgeous stores all around, this was a great way to kick off the fall and winter months in Houston, a magical experience and might I add, the best way to start your Christmas shopping!
