On Friday, Feb. 9, Houston’s philanthropic circle traded their winter jewel-toned gowns for animal print in honor of the Good Samaritan Foundation’s 30th annual Pearl Ball. Chaired by Allison and Geoff Leach, the vibrant event raised more than $200K which will go towards the organization’s scholarship program for student nurses.

The River Oaks Country Club ballroom was transformed into a Jabulani celebration complete with performances by a tribal dance group and Empire 6. Prior to dinner and dancing, Good Samaritan Foundation chairman Jason Fertitta gave a brief history of the organization and explained its core goal: to increase and improve nurse education and training in Texas.

“Through the generosity of its donors, Good Samaritan Foundation has become one of the largest private grantors of scholarships to Texas nursing students,” said Fertitta, who then thanked Good Samaritan’s trustees and endowment directors for their generosity and support.

Among the crowd were professionals from the health sector as well as gala regulars. Spotted were Courtney and Bill Toomey; Kim and James Albright; Mark Barr; Julie and Drew Sudduth; Abigail and Eric Berkman; Lauren and Warren Harris; Tiffaney and Scott Perhala; Allison and Geoff Leach; Jenny and Chris Johnson; Kimball and David Moriniere; Nakeisha Archer; Maurie Carlson; Debbie and Kent Chenevert and Linda and Doug Christians.

The Foundation hopes to continue its generous funding through the years to come. For more information, visit gsftx.org.
