Heels, always Heels.
What inspired you to be in the real estate business?
I enjoy helping people. Through real estate I can do exactly that. It can be overwhelming and intimidating selling or buying a home but I love that I can make that process simple and easy for all my clients.
At a very young age you have created a name and a great business for yourself. What is the secret and the challenges you face?
The secret is simple, I always stay positive and never give up. Life is too short to worry about petty things.
You are passionate about giving back. Tell us about the charities.
There are so many charities and issues that need attention. I strongly feel about driving attention towards adult bullying. It is a growing problem in our community that affects us physically and mentally. I am involved with Houston Children Give back, as well as being underwriter chairs for the St Annes Gala. Nan & Co Properties learned first hand that there is truly no better feeling in the world than to make a child’s Christmas a little brighter. So last December when we were approached by the D12 Foundation to assist in giving underprivileged children and their families a brighter Christmas it was a no-brainer.
Now that we know what are beautiful person you are in the inside. Let’s chat about the outside. Who are your favorite designers and why?
I literally live in David Peck (she laughs). Both Peck and Diane von Furstenberg (DVF) I feel are committed to empowering women and it shows through their designs. They are sophisticated, glamorous, edgy and sleek.
You would not step out of the house without?
Mascara.
As a real estate guru what are your favorite hot spots in Houston?
True Foods in Houston is amazing for a great lunch spot. The energy and décor is so upbeat. Most favorite place in the world is my home, hanging out with my husband and children.
Let’s wrap it up with something about you that nobody knows.
Since starting my company the number one question people ask me is “When do you have time for your family?” What no one realizes is that my commitment to my family is the number one reason for my success. It is a common misconception that you cannot be successful in business and keep family first. Between wiping snotty noses and helping them learn their shapes and numbers it keeps me grounded and stress free. It allows me to have a release from the daily stresses of running a company and for that I am so thankful. (She smiles)
