Fashionista of the Month | Latika Bathija

At Pratham’s Annual Holiday Luncheon (Fashioning with Dior), Houston based philanthropist and socialite, Latika Bathija made a special impact. Indo-American Society News Magazine Lights Camera Action spotted her as the Fashionista of the Month and titled her as Lady Dior.

According to the fashion and style department of Saks Sylvia Forsythe the typical DIOR lady is very elegant, sophisticated and understated. She wears simple dresses with accessories or structured suits. The title was not about how she looked on that particular event. To us Latika has always made an impact as a sophisticated, stylish woman who makes an effort to look elegant and most importantly someone who knows how to put things together. She pays close attention to maintaining a good figure and fashionable outlook with a very loving heart.

Latika’s style statement is based on one word – elegance. “I shop mostly for accessories, and my favorites are belts. I like to accentuate my waist and I love the way they feel on pants or a simple skirt,” says Ms Bathija. Her top picks for this season are the Michael Kors wristlet and a fabulous pair of pumps, “the brand does not matter,” she adds.

What do you think about the fashion and the desi scene in Houston?
The desi scene in Houston is adequate. This generation is so sophisticated and they know how to take care of themselves. We improvise, and a very essential part of being a fashionista is to know this art!

The top two favorites in her closet this season are her Gap jeans and Ferragamo sandals. The one thing Latika does not leave her home without: “My Chanel sunglasses. Rain or shine!!”
