Business Bloom! Lexis Florist Celebrates 25 Years
A Report By Ruchi Mukherjee
It was a fairyland with flowers everywhere. The ballroom was decorated like a royal wedding with flowers of all kinds, along with plenty of joy and pride in the air as the Habib family got together with some 300 plus Lexis Florist current clients, future clients, brides-to-be, friends and family to celebrate their 25 years of success.
Sue Habib, founder and president of Lexis Florist came to this country in 1985 with three kids and a dream and rightly proved that with hard work, dedication and a great vision dreams do come true. She has established a reputation for floral excellence in the United States for now more than two decades. “After coming to the United States and starting my own business, my success is all due to ‘God’s Grace’, my family’s support, my children and the support of my sister Hoda,” says Sue. “My mom is never off from work, she breathes, dreams and thinks about flowers. She is an amazing businesswoman and i have got to learn a lot from her,” shares Miriam her beautiful daughter.
This fabulous evening featured a bridal runway show; styled by Kimberly A. Powell of The Fashion Forecast, with dresses from Casa de Novia Bridal and Cheeky Vintage. The event was eloquently emceed by Emmy-winning News Anchor Dominique Sachse of KPRC Local 2 who is also recently making making headlines with her engagement news. The ballroom was packed with some power houses sipping champagne enjoying tasty bites provided by Who Made the Cake?, Fadi’s Mediterranean Grill, Ral’s Fine Catering, Arcodoro, Icing Cupcakes, Chocolate Fountain Express and The Omni Riverway. Cindi Rose was providing her creative silhouettes for the guests and entertainment was provided by Lewis Grell of LG Entertainment.
The event took off with some traditional speeches but surely not boring with special guest speakers Jeff Gremillion, Editor in Chief at Houston Modern Luxury, Jared Lang, General Manager of Momentum Audi and Volkswagen and Founder of Fashion Houston, Rola Christie, Radio Host for 104.1 KRBE, Councilman Corbett Daniel Parker, Councilman for the City of Bellaire, Rita Sahyoun, Manager at Bank of America all reflected on the success and growth of Lexis Florist. Councilman Corbett Parker in his very own humorous persona handed Sue Habib a Proclamation on behalf of Mayor Annise Parker.
Call me biased but I have to confess that it was most definitely a fun evening, sophisticated yet oozing with warmth. Both mother-daughter Sue-Miriam did not fail to personally reach out to all their friends, family and clients with a warm hug and a big Thank You. Spotted at the event Sharron Melton, Cara Morales, Cortney Cole, Yasmine Haddad, Ashlee Lee, Joe Francisco, and many others.
