Power Couples: LCAHouston Valentine’s Edition
February is the Love Month and we all secretly aspire for love and that special someone to be close to and share the joys of life. At least most of the optimistic lot does. Love is a beautiful thing if shared and experienced with the right person. While Houston can boast to be at the forefront in business, employment growth and cultural heights, we can also certainly claim Htown to be a hot spot for love and romance. With our efforts to bridge the gap between Houston and Woodlands we managed to attend and cover society parties and galas in both places. Both The Woodlands & Houston’s couples are rocking the scene.

Rashi Vats and Daniel Gotera
Media Duo: Rashi Vats is a reporter and journalist for FOX 26, married to Daniel, Sports reporter at KHOU-TV in Houston. This media couple is each other’s biggest fan and supporter. Despite crazy work schedules and two kids this power couple balances a beautiful loving relationship. “Communication and trust between us is essential to be the best versions of ourselves in our personal and professional life. It’s a lot of work and tough at times with demanding jobs and our kiddos, but knowing that we are on each others team gives me strength to conquer any obstacles that arise in this game of life,” explains Rashi.
Tammie & Dr. Charles Johnson
This beautiful couple is spotted hand in hand at many lavish Houston galas. This year they celebrated their 20th Wedding Anniversary and proudly boast their passion for traveling. Together they have visited 20 countries. “If I could change anything, we would have met sooner,” she shares.
Charles Johnson, M.D. is an ophthalmologist with Texas Eye Institute and is considered to be one of the Gulf Coast’s top eye surgeons. Charles was one of the first surgeons in the Houston area to perform LASIK Vision Correction in 1995. Tammie is recognized as one of the most amazing women selected for her distinguished contribution to Houston’s philanthropic community. Tammie Anne Johnson is delighted to be one of the 2023 Women of Distinction for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.

Megha is a Food & Travel Writer while Patrick McSwain serves as a Criminal Defense Attorney.
“We feel that the most important part of a loving relationship is to laugh together, and treat each other with respect. We also do our best to nurture our relationship every day, by spending time talking and listening, eating dinner together, and making any night a date night,” shared Megha.
Dr. Alice and Matt Brams
Dr. Alice Mao along with her husband Matt Brams celebrate their 33rd Wedding Anniversary together. “I feel so lucky to have this wonderful man to share life’s joys and challenges. He has the ability to make me laugh and makes up funny names for my outfits and buys extravagant gifts even when there is no occasion,” shares Alice. Together they enjoy being parents to their son Evan and Alice devotes her academic career to educating others about the life changing stresses on the parents and siblings caring for children with Autism.
Dr. Alice Mao is Professor of Psychiatry and the Medical Director of the Texas Children’s Hospital Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Autism Clinic. She was named to The Houston Chronicle/Neiman Marcus Best Dressed List in 2020 for her philanthropy work and sense of style. Meanwhile, Dr. Matthew Brams has published numerous articles on novel interventions for treatment of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder and is the Chief Medical Officer of Cingulate Therapeutics!
Chandra Josette Giambrone and Subhan
Chandra also known as CJ on social media platforms is an artist, mom, wife, and social media personality living with her perfectly mixed family in New York.
Married to her high school prom date, Pakistani first generation American Subhan, she believes that the one thing that is most important in their relationship is:
DATE NIGHT.
“Subhan and I believe you should never stop dating your life partner, after all it’s forever so why not make it fun. Our date nights are Fridays and sometimes include the kids. A typical date night could be a movie night with take out, a night with the kids at the arcade, a proper formal dinner date at our favorite restaurant or visiting an art gallery. Date nights allow us to check in, emotionally, mentally and physically.”
Rekha Muddaraj and Neil Badlani
KHOU Channel 11 Anchor Rekha alongside her husband Dr. Neil make the most beautiful couple as they try to have fun supporting events or date nights or just another big fat Indian wedding. Dr. Neil Badlani M.D., M.B.A. is an orthopedic surgeon, who specializes in spine surgery. He’s in private practice at The Orthopedic Sports Clinic.
The couple will be celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary this October.
“The key for us, is we don’t sweat the small stuff! With our careers and three little girls, we’ve learned that nothing will ever go perfectly – and that’s ok! We just try to be present and enjoy the moments we have together,” shares Rekha.

Courtney and Ryan Wilkerson
These Woodlands based sweethearts will celebrate their 10th Wedding Anniversary this June but have been together for 13 years. Courtney is well known in The Woodlands area for her brand new boutique Pell 1990 while Ryan along with his family are successful developers in the area including their newest Golf Course Highland Pines.
Together they are spotted supporting several local charities including LCAHouston’s International Mother’s Day Soiree Woodlands Awards Luncheon. While they successfully fulfill their roles as mommy and daddy they also take their date nights very seriously. Mastros, Tris and Amerigo’s are among their top favorite date night spots.

Narendra and Gayathri Rao
This couple will definitely cheer you up on a murky day with their very loving over the top Bollywood song dance reels on Sunday afternoons. They are real estate professionals and own a team called The Rao Team. They have been Houston residents for 26 years with successful careers in Corporate America. Gayathri as a Structural Engineer in Oil and Gas Industry and Narendra as a Food safety professional.
They have a real passion for helping others and strive to make the home buying/selling process as stress free as possible and help their clients with their valuable experience and knowledge of the real estate industry in the Houston area. This Rao Team have been married for 27 years and live in the Houston suburb of Richmond with their two kids and fur baby Tippu.
“The most valuable thing in a relationship for us is communication. We both love to catch up at the end of a busy day with a cup of chai and talk about our day long experiences and we strongly believe in going to bed happy,” Gayathri added.
Meka and Kevin Coxon
This Woodlands based fun loving couple not only have a passion for hikes and adventurous travels, Meka and Kevin are out and about supporting many charities.
They love to embrace all cultures and cuisine. “Indian food and Amrina is definitely one of our favorite date night places,” shares Meka.
