High Energy Kick-Off 2021 Latin Women’s Initiative Annual Luncheon

It’s wonderful to see Houston’s social scene bustling again. Everyone was excited to be in person May 19 at Tootsies for the kick-off of the 2021 Latin Women’s Initiative (LWI) Annual Fashion Show and Luncheon. Luncheon Committee Chairmen Elia Gabbanelli and Vicki Luna along with honoree Gloria Luna Bounds welcomed over 150 guests who were ready to celebrate. LWI President Maritza Gonzales thanked everyone for all their support and the impact they have made on the lives of so many women and children in the Latino community.

LCAHouston got to catch up with Spanish fashionista and Co Chair Elia Gabbanelli who shared: “I am beyond excited to be co-chairing the 19th LWI Fashion Show Luncheon with Vicki Luna featuring Colombian designer Silvia Tcherassi. To host a designer of this caliber is a privilege for our organization and patrons as it will be like attending one of her shows during Paris Fashion Week but with a philanthropic purpose to raise money for our beneficiaries who serve Latin Women and children in the greater Houston area.”

The beneficiaries for the luncheon this year were applauded: Bayou City Blessings in a Backpack, Books Between Kids, Tejano Center for Community Concerns, The Bridge, The University of Houston Center for Mexican American Studies (CMAS). To keep the tempo of the party goers DJ Freddy B had the crowd dancing and tasty bites were passed along with beverages to keep the energy flowing.

Spotted in the Crowd: Michel Leal, Susie Molina, Roseangela Capobianco, Isela Garcia, Daisy Mendoza, Monica Reyna Casiano, Vicky Dominguez, Melina Balsamo, Blanca Jolly, Sharon Montes, Hoda Sana, MilkaWaterland, Kimberly Kristina, and Marilu Barns.
