Power Couple | Namrata and Ankur Goel

Namrata and Ankur are no strangers to hard work and dedication, not only to their careers, but to one another.

Dr. Namrata Sharma Goel, a Board Certified Nephrologist with her own private practice, completed her Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine. Ankur Goel has been President and Co-Owner of Hardy Machine & Design Inc., a Tier 1 manufacturing company focused on the oil & gas industry for 35 years.

They are both steadfastly committed to their community. Namrata serves as a Board Member of Magic Bus, the Smile Foundation, and Pratham Houston Chapter, which provide education, social, and life skills to the underprivileged youth of India. She is the recipient of the 2017 Award for Outstanding Business Leader in Healthcare by The Houston business Journal, the 2017-2019 Top Nephrologist Award by The Leading Physicians of the World, and the 2019 Top Doctor in Texas Award. Ankur sits on the Board of India House Houston, a non-profit organization which serves the community by providing resources, education, free health care, food drives & other services.

In their free time, they love traveling the world with their three children.

Can you tell us that one thing that makes you both feel powerful as a couple.

We try to support and magnify each other’s strengths and talents. While Namrata is an extrovert, organized, and well-planned, Ankur is reserved and spontaneous.

What are your favorite couple activities?

We love traveling out of the country on family trips when we can. Both being foodies, we also like discovering new restaurants. In a vibrant and diverse city like Houston, there are a variety of different culinary experiences to try. Being parents of 3 young children, we also make frequent trips to Houston Rockets games and the area museums.

Namrata, you did mention that what you love the most about Ankur was he understands you. Can you elaborate and what does he admire the most about you?

Ankur admires my passion and ambition towards my career, and how I balance a busy work schedule with family time. He also admires my ability to push myself intellectually, emotionally, and spiritually. I try to grow as a person everyday, and I know he appreciates that.

Despite busy careers and three kids, this couple manages to watch their favorite Bollywood movies, play board games together, and enjoy an active healthy lifestyle.
