TOOTSIES WOW Summer Soiree Raises Over $14,000 for Dress for Success Houston
Rain or shine Houston’s fashionista crowd never fail to sizzle and when it comes to charity they are certainly set to wow you. On a Wednesday evening, August 17, approximately 300 of Houston’s most social young professionals dressed in their hautest attire and gathered for the 13th Annual Tootsies Sizzling Summer Soiree to raise funds and awareness for Dress for Success Houston. The trendy evening was co-hosted by Women of Wardrobe President, Susan Oehl, and event emcees, KHOU’s Mia Gradney and KHOU’s Chita Craft. Guests mixed and mingled with featured New York fashion icon, designer Jay Godfrey, while he showcased his new Fall 2016 collection. Jewelry designer Claudia Lobao of San Antonio once again had the opportunity to showcase her collection. Party goers shared in a heartfelt moment to celebrate Mickey Rosmarin as Dress for Success Houston’s co-founder and president, Nancy Levicki, said a few words in his honor.
The main goal of WOW is to assist Dress for Success Houston through fundraising and volunteerism to support the overall mission. Each membership fee of $100 is associated with the cost to purchase a new suit and accessories for a Dress for Success Houston client. At present their membership is more than 300 ladies. Founded in 1998 by Nancy Levicki and Susie Cunningham, Dress for Success Houston aims to empower women to achieve economic independence by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help women thrive in work and life.
A fun filled philanthropic evening fun included Houston’s top fashion influencers, Ashley Seippel, Sullivan Group representatives Jordan Lewis, Alyssa Aboloff, and Hilary Baars. Also present WOW’s current president, Susan Oehl, along with steering committee members, Allie Danziger, Karishma Asrani, Paige Branam, Melissa Sugulas, and Lauren Granello, Maryam Afshari, Sequoia Di Angelo, just to name a few.
