Shopping their Hearts Out!
Many have a love hate relationship with Britain. What we really love about London is their fashion and one such brand L.K.Bennett is an absolute favorite amongst South Asians. The craze for Kate Middleton’s favorite brand was apparent when Developments in Literacy (DIL) ‘Shop for a Cause’ extravaganza was hosted by DIL Board member Mona Khan on Thursday at the L.K.Bennett store in the Galleria, Houston, Texas. Champagne was flowing all evening with the best MACARONs in town while fashionable ladies shopped their heart out for a great cause.
“It was such a huge success and we all had a great time collaborating with Sukaina Rajani owner of MACARON by Patisse and raising funds, as a percentage of all sales from the evening went to support DIL,” says Mona.
DIL educates and empowers underprivileged students, especially girls, by operating student centered model schools; and provides high quality professional development to teachers and principals across Pakistan.
L.K.Bennett was bustling with glamorous ladies trying vibrant their spring/summer collection. The evening had shades of fashionable eccentricity compelling guests to shop and give back.
Spotted indulging in the retail therapy were: Chitua Ohaeri, Jessica Hatch, Susan Bailey-Newell, Sabeen Nadeem, Swati Narayan, Sukaina Rajani, Michelle Celeste, Farha & Wajid Mirza, Neelofer Kazmi, Shefali Tejani, Sanah Khan, Teresa Ardenghy, Seidy Bautista, Azmat Shah, Huma Nawab, Naureen and Ahmad Malik, Fataymah Hak, Anna Gandhi, Evelyn Zavala, and Wasay Khan.
This was one the first events hosted this season as DIL gears up for their upcoming annual gala that will be held at Omni Hotel Galleria on September 24, 2016. For more information please visit dil.org/houston.
