Catwalks and Fashion Parties in Galleria – Hot Summer Events for The Women’s Home
The Sixth Annual reNew & reDo Fashion Event for The Women’s Home was successfully hosted at the Grand Foyer of the Wortham Theater on August 19 with fashionista chairs Mandy Kao and Sneha Merchant. The event featured celebrity models walking the runway showcasing designer outfits that were donated by some of Houston’s finest closets and fashion icons.
The fundraiser honored four fashion icons — Carrie Colbert, Theresa Roemer and Elaine Turner, and icon hall of fame honoree Joanne King Herring, each of whom donated an outfit for auction. “Each year this fashion show fundraiser event is getting bigger and better. This year the event raised $130,000 with the generous support of host committee members and everyone who supported,” shared Sneha. “This year the men walked the ramp too, adding so much more fun,” she added.
This fashion extravaganza was certainly the best end of summer shopping affair where pretty ladies shopped for amazing bargains in an area of the Wortham that was set up like a designer boutique fair, with great deals from Dior, Prada, Chanel, and Versace.
This event was made successful with the tireless efforts of Chau Nguyen from The Women’s Home, co-chairs and all the ‘celebrity’ models that worked throughout the year as a team to host several fundraiser events at many boutique shops, convincing family and friends to support by making donations. A host of fashion events were organized by Michael Pearce at LUCHO, Naureen Malik hosted fashion night out at L. K. Bennett, and Tracy Faulkner hosted a party at her beautiful home.
Stunning emcee Lily Jang held the audience captive with her charm and grace while models clearly stole the show. Walking the ramp were: Dr. Sippi Khurana, Naushir Merchant, Michael Pearce, Karina Barbieri, Staci Henderson, Nancy Almodovar, Rita Garcia, Doane Chramosta, Varda Dror, Peta-gay Chen Ledbetter. Also spotted Katherine Le, Ajay Khurana, Janice Hall, Matt Burrus, Harry Faulkner, Hector Villarreal, Toni Tate, William Kennerly, Deborah Duncan, and many others.
