It would not be right to wrap up the fabulous 2014 without recollecting some remarkable moments from Lights Camera Action Houston Society News. With a successful 2nd International Mothers’ Day Soiree at Neiman Marcus to exclusive interviews with celebrities such as Tilda Swinton, Wes Anderson, Tina Knowles, Sarah Jessica Parker, Shahruk Khan, Naeem Khan, and Scott Kelly, we have been marching successfully, bridging various communities.
While we reflect upon these priceless moments I would like to showcase our absolute favorite 2014 Glamour Ladies, who are from various ethnic backgrounds, and who played a vital role supporting the community whether in the field of media, fashion, charity, medicine or motherhood. They have brought smiles to many with their generosity, sophistication and plenty of kindness. Hoping for a fantastic 2015!
Dominique Sachse, Anchor at KPRC Local 2 and Lights Camera Action’s International Mothers’ Day Soiree Showstopper. She is Houston’s style icon, a role model for many newcomers in the field of media. Dominique defies the notion that media women are just competitive. Her grace, elegance and readiness to help others sets her apart.
Alex Blair, this Brazilian beauty is a dancer, mother, fashionista and a board member of Recipe for Success. Her motto is very simple “Be real and have fun.”
Dr. Huma Nawab, mother and a very busy doctor and owner of Dr. Huma Nawab Med Spa.
Miriam Habib, a former beauty pageant, daughter of Sue Habib of Lexis Florist, dedicated wife, mother and manages Lexis Florist.
Claudia Ayala, owner of Mio Boutique, a mother of three, Claudia is always full of energy who’s passion is to support and empower women-owned businesses. Her boutique is a one stop destination for many charity events and promoting local designers.
Cortney Cole Hall, Founder of Pink Door Non-Profit Organization, she makes things happen, dedicated honest and driven, Cortney has taken the organization to new heights.
Roseann Rogers, The Buzz Lady, is a powerhouse. A mother and wife, Roseann is the Director of PR and Business Development for John Daugherty, Realtors.
Kathleen McCarter, is a charity driven lady with distinct taste in fashion. She is a true fashionista who takes clothes very seriously. Her favorite stop is Mio Boutique.
Farida Abjani, is a nurse by profession, President/Founder of Texas State Healthcare & Hospice Care. She takes philanthropy very seriously. Being a nurse for Farida seems not to be a coincidence, her caring and loving nature has affected many lives in Houston.
Yasmine Haddad, is not just a fashionista, she makes a style statement, who is not afraid to stand out in the crowd. What no one believes is that this glamour lady’s day job is assistant professor at the University of Texas School of Dentistry at Houston.
