Birthday Celebrations 40 or 45 – Who Cares! Let’s Just Celebrate for Goodwill!
This week was all about celebrating high profile birthdays. From #Anika40th party to Asia Society fame John Bradshaw Jr turning 45, Houstonians were busy toasting to have a great time.
Asia Society Texas Center’s ballroom was converted into a magical White Christmas Wonderland on a Monday evening with a packed house to celebrate Deputy Director of Asia Society John Bradshaw, Jr’s 45th birthday. It was natural to celebrate his birthday at Asia Society Texas Center where he spends most of his time anyway. A grand birthday lounge was prepared with the smooth sounds of Deejay Baohaus, culinary delights by City Kitchen, and libations aplenty. Dignitaries, high profile media guests, friends and family all partied till the wee hours making it very clear that Houston loves John.
Three tiered cake, delicious cookies and plenty more cakes were spread for guests to enjoy. Spotted partying with the birthday boy were: Nancy C. Allen, Bonna Kol, Charles Foster, Gordon Quan, Gene Wu and Miya Shay, Mandy Kao, Chau Nguyen, Kent Schaffer, Shaila and Sumany Patel, Tammy Tran Nuuyen, Robert T. Sakowitz, Clifford Pugh and Joel Luks, and many others.

Meanwhile Anika Jackson the managing partner of Hardcastle Properties, LLC and co-founder of the nonprofits Learn Grow Lead and Houston Children Give Back celebrated her 40th birthday. Anika Jackson is also one of the celebrity models for KNOW Autism Inaugural Gala on February 12, 2015. Her birthday was no ordinary celebration, it was a celebration of style, glamor and charity. #Anika40 was no joke she had four events over five days to introduce friends from the East and West Coast to the wonderful world of Houston. The celebrations included a private David Peck sample sale breakfast, Esperson Gallery Landing Party featuring Taft McWhorter’s masterpiece, then Friday night a cocktail party at Elaine Turner followed by L’Olivier, and the grand finale was with 200 exclusive guests at the Junior League of Houston ballroom.
Behind all this fun and play, the purpose was to raise funds for two charities, Houston Children Give Back and Learn Grow Lead. Over $10,000 was raised and the numbers keep growing. Party animals celebrating for #Anika40 were: Darlene Baker, Rani Self and Todd Parker, Koshka Cohen, Bonnie Bowes, Victoria Whitmore, Dimitri Craven, Dana Shupe Burrows, Terri Collins, Jentry Kellet, Magen Pastor, Donae and Rob Chramosta, Nancy Almodovar, Layla Asgari, David Peck and the list goes on.
