Guilty Pleasures – The Mon Venin Bag!
Houston recently hosted Design Fair 2014 featuring vintage modern objects of the 20th century, as well as examples of cutting-edge contemporary design. A wide selection of carefully curated items were available for purchase as part of the Design Fair, including furniture, glass, ceramics, lighting, books, metalwork and fashion. Visitors to the Fair were able to meet the designers and exhibitors to gauge an up-close and personal look at the designs.
It was exciting to have our very own local divas Gabriella Tempestad Aliberti, Nadia P. Lauterbach and Kristin De Aldecoa representing Mon Venin. The brand Mon Venin is the creation by a group of friends from diverse backgrounds and various professions with a one commonality: Fashion. “We are fashionistas, our goal is to discover and provide objects of rare beauty and unique refinement to the discerning Fashionista,” says Gabriela.
Their collections are very well known for authentic snakeskin and alligator bags without breaking your wallet. The clutches, wallets and handbags are made by Nicaraguan handbag designer Haydee Callejas. Mon Venin sells 3 different lines from Haydee; Gitana Haydee Callejas, Haydee Callejas, & Haydee Callejas Prive.
Along with their line of luxury accessories, Mon Venin has been very supportive to the community either by supporting local designers and local shops, or by combining fashion and charity. Recently they donated a beautiful soft leather Hobo Mon Venin bag for Lights Camera Action’s International Mothers’ Day Soiree that was highlighting The Tahirih Justice Center. Connie Kwan Wong winner and now proud owner of the Mon Venin bag at the event says, “I love the color and the leather is exceptionally soft.”
