Latin Women’s Initiative Luncheon
Where will you find in Houston in the middle of an afternoon hot Latino ladies, shirtless hunks, a brilliant fashion show and tequila shots? Only at the Latin Women’s Initiative Fashion Show Luncheon on May 16, 2014 at the Hilton Americas, Downtown Houston with more than 600 guests.
Honorary Chairs Ericka Bagwell and Lucinda Loya, along with Rosi F. Hernandez, President Latin Women’s Initiative, presented a flawless afternoon showcasing fashion designer Rene Ruiz presented by Tootsies. Latin Women’s Initiative (LWI) is a non-profit organization dedicated to making a difference in the lives of Latin women and their families by financially supporting organizations that provide community resources, education and health services in the community.
It was the luncheon to be in your fashionable best, also not to be missed, a bazaar that showcased various shops from around town. Guests mixed, mingled, and posed for photographs and busily shopped for those unique handbags, necklaces or maybe a leather dress. While certainly the highlight of the afternoon was the fashion show and shopping. However, we cannot miss talking about the fashionable ladies dressed in designer dresses, the handful of smart gentlemen, the shirtless hunks modelling in trunks; and to wrap up, models and guests raising a toast with shots provided by Robert Tijerina‘s Houston-based Premium Spirits company Titanium Tequila, a 100 percent blue agave silver tequila that has won a Gold Medal at the prestigious 2014 San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
With events like this we can say that Houston is not just an evolving culturally diverse city but is also very philanthropic while excelling in high fashion.
Houston’s philanthropists and busy bodies were present en masse at the luncheon. Spotted were: Kim Padgett, Susie Jimenez, Katherine Orellana Ross, Karina Barbieri (Luncheon Committee), Cindi Rose, Jessica Rossman, Escarle Silva, Alex Martinez, Alex Blair, Sandi Ramirez, Shelby Hodge (Culturemap), Sherron Melton (ABC 13), Ellie Francisco (Luncheon Committee), Fady Armanious, Ursaline Hamilton, and many others.
