A Wolf, British Vogue, Stylish Outfits! Jonathan Blake 2014 Fall/Winter Collection Takes Houston On A Wild Tour!
Sophisticated, bold yet glamorous are the three words that come to mind to describe the essence of Jonathan Blake’s Fall/Winter 2014 Collection hosted at the Omni Hotel invitation-only runway fashion show on Wednesday, April 2.
Morning news anchor for KTRK-TV/ABC 13 Sharron Melton served as the emcee for the runway fashion show with her witty remarks and great sense of humor. Page Parkes models displayed a fabulous show while BLINC by Bambi Linn produced a flawless runway show.
During a quiet conversation with the demure Jonathan Blake I learned about his inspiration. He says that he likes a woman with who goes to office and also has fun. Blake’s initial interest was acting but by the age of 14 he started sketching.
The 2014 collection was a demonstration of Jonathan Blake’s evolving mind and vision as a fashion designer. British Vogue Fashion Columnist, Naomi Smart thoroughly enjoyed Blake’s show. “I like to feature the new the exciting and the show was fantastic,” says Smart. Even though Houston’s market is very engaging, Jonathan aims to expand outside of Houston. “I am planning LA, London, and Aspen,” says Jonathan. He is pursuing an international, cosmopolitan audience of buyers who are willing to let their hair down and ‘walk on the wild side’. As part of his expansion plans, Jonathan Blake will be hosting a series of trunk shows and gala fashion shows in Houston, New York, London and other fashion centers throughout 2014.
The show came to an end with a wolf which certainly came as a surprise just like Jonathan’s muse. “Women who have a ‘secret’ side, who are refined and restrained by day and uninhibited and fun-loving by night, are the muses for my new Fall/Winter collection,” he adds.
The collection introduced luxurious furs and intricate embroidery also expanding upon the use of fine leathers and exotic skins, silk and wool. He also introduced new handbags for women who travel stylishly. Each handbag is handmade in the United States and is available in a unique color of fine leather or exotic skin,” Jonathan explained.
Everything about the collection that was compiled of 28 looks was stunning. However, the mink jacket, the handmade embroidery, the green leather jacket, and long gowns were some of my favorites. Here are Lights Camera Action’s Top 5 Looks:
