Bring in Spring with Happiness – Children’s Museum of Houston Luncheon
It’s spring already and the weather outside is cold but there was plenty of warmth and wit among the enlightened 420 guests at the River Oaks Country Club ballroom for the 2014 Children’s Museum Of Houston Friends and Families luncheon. The luncheon was a resounding success raising more than $123,000 for the Museum’s early childhood and parenting programs which focuses on building parenting skills, providing information on child development and engaging families in the joy of learning together.
The keynote speaker Dr. Christine Carter author of ‘Sharing Happiness‘ mesmerized the mostly ladies crowd with her friendly tips of happiness and how to achieve it. Dr. Carter shared many tips for more joyful kids and happier parents. The most favorite tip was “Make kindness your center theme in your life and make sure to enjoy the present,” explains Dr. Carter.
The Spring themed gala luncheon was bustling with fashionable ladies and busy moms in pretty colorful dresses wrapped in furs. Spotted at the luncheon: Chairs Kristen Berger and Marcia Smart with emcee Gina Gaston Elie, Kelli Cohen Fein, Margaret Hill, Kim Petersen, Millette Sherman, Tiffany Smith, Leigh Anne Raymond, Krystal Thompson, and many others.
