Houston’s Young Professional Men and Women Gear Up for Leukemia and Lymphoma Campaign
A glitzy glamorous evening was hosted to kick-off the Fourth Annual Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s (LLS) Texas Gulf Coast Chapter 2013 Man & Woman of the Year Campaign at Saks Fifth Avenue on March 28th, 2013 with plenty of media friends, socialites and philanthropists.
The campaign has grown bigger and better over the years bringing in diversity amongst selecting candidates to run this unique campaign where successful men and women from the Houston community will compete for the title of 2013 Man & Woman of the Year. This campaign has been a success across the nation for the past 20 years, however the Texas Gulf Coast Chapter introduced its first in 2010.
Joe Francisco, Candidate for 2012, was the emcee for the evening and with his enthusiasm and winning attitude kept the event upbeat. This years’ distinguished nominees came from a variety of backgrounds, from executives to artists and everything in between. Being able to access a wide audience is key to raising funds and awareness. The young children being honored this season are Paxton Smith and Corinne Miller.
All in all, Houston’s finest compete for the Man & Woman of the Year Title aiding in the search for a cure to cancer, in honor of the Chapter’s Boy & Girl of the Year.
So gear up Houston for a tough fight for a great cause! Spotted cheering and supporters of the LLS family were: Evelyn Eightman, Billie Sue Parris, Tracy and Harry, Rita Garcia, Sneha and Naushir Merchant, Jacquie Baly, Sonia Azad, Katie McCall, Kile and Zack Spelz, and many others.
