Birthday Soiree Tantalizes Indian Taste Buds
About forty-five close friends and co-workers of David Raj gathered at Narin’s Bombay Brasserie to celebrate his birthday. The celebration was iconic with a five course dinner menu with special wine parings and why not? As the soiree was for an ardent philanthropist, community leader, musician, and most importantly someone who is dauntlessly celebrating life after an amazing recovery from cancer.
David served as the 2012 President of Indo American Charity Foundation, has a band called ‘David & Friends’ with the goal to have fun and play at fundraisers and client appreciation dinners. Narin, chef and owner of Bombay Brasserie restaurant laid special emphasis on the menu to add creativity and distinct flavors to each of the five courses. Meat lovers enjoyed baked trout and chicken pesto wrapped in parchment paper along with biryani rice and various kinds of naans (Indian bread).
Vegetarians were not at a loss, as the chef made sure everyone enjoyed their meal with the first course of chopped portabella mushrooms baked to perfection with herbs and spices. However, the egg rolls stuffed with squash, vegetables and a hint of spice was an absolute delicacy. Overall an evening filled with laughter, simplicity, delicious food and much vino to satisfy everyone’s palate.
Spotted at the birthday soiree were: Pradeep Gokhale, Swatantra Jain, Asheet K Yagnik, Reji and Roy Joseph, Sanjay and Savita Rao, Ash Shah, Sanjay Ram, Asha Reddi, Nasir Walji, Anu Bala, and many others.
