Galas To Go
As we wrap up this crazy month of September, that is not only flooded with galas/parties and birthdays (including mine), there are two galas that I would not want to miss.
Saving Lives: Celebrating Courage – The Tahirih Justice Center’s Inaugural Gala on Saturday September 29, 2012. The Tahirih Justice Center provides lifesaving legal resources and high-impact public policy advocacy on behalf of immigrant women and children fleeting violence.
The Saturday event will be a fun gala evening with a young professional crowd at The Houstonian with a reception around 6:30pm followed by seated dinner and suggested attire cocktail chic. The gala evening is thrilled to honor The Honorable Marty and Parvin McVey, Christine LaFollette of Akin Gump, and Charles Foster and Gordon Quan of FosterQuan.

While the Indo American Charity Foundation hosts their annual Gala at the Texas Safari Ranch on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 6:30pm with the theme ‘Education is the Key To Success‘. In conversation with current President of IACF David Raj, he informed that the gala is expected to be sold out with inspiring musical entertainment and the focus will be towards education.
There are many charities that the Indian American community is supporting, however the main purpose of this charity foundation is to focus on the well being of the US. “The Indo-American Charity Foundation, from its initial focus on hunger, has evolved into a multi-faceted organization that has donated to many social causes and one of the most important causes is Education,” informs David Raj.
