Meet and Greet Rick Miller
The rain did not stop enthusiastic politicaly driven movers and shakers of the Indian and American community in the Sugarland area on Sunday, July 15, 2012. The Indo American Friends of Fort Bend County came together to host a reception for Rick Miller, Republican candidate for HD 26. This was a sign of support to endorse his race in the primary run off, coming up on July 31, 2012.
The gathered was of the belief that Rick Miller would better represent the needs of the community and have an open mind and an open door to the concerns and needs of HD 26. “It was also an opportunity to introduce him to the leadership in the Indo American community,” says Sonal Bhuchar.
The event was hosted at the office of Dr. Subodh Bhuchar, along with Naren Patel as the emcee who did a fine job honoring the prominent community leaders present in the room. However, Sonal Bhuchar’s talk about the Indian community was received with loud applause. She gave a wide perspective about India’s oldest democracy, education and tolerance for many religions.
A great turnout, with Mayor of Sugarland James A. Thompson, Harish and Shashi Jajoo, Sanjay Rao, Thomas Abraham, Nat and Leela Krishnamurthy, Hansa, and many others.
