Houston To Welcome Deepak Chopra

It’s time to feed the needy. Local philanthropists gear up for an intimate evening with Deepak Chopra on Sunday September 9th 6:30pm at the Westin Galleria Hotel, Houston TX to benefit AKSHAYA PATRA.

Akshaya Patra feeds 1.4 million children in over 9,200 schools daily, with a total operating budget of 30 million. The organization aims to have no child deprived of education because of hunger.

The evening is expected to be sold out with Deepak Chopra, Founder of Chopra Center for Wellbeing, one of Time Magazine’s Top 100 icons and Heroes of the Twentieth Century, he is also an Advisory Board Member of Akshaya Patra. Shankar Mahadevan and Javed Aktar are dedicating a special CD for this landmark occasion.

Looks like it will be a glamorous evening for a great cause as it involves prominent community leaders from the Indian and American community. The honorary chairs for the event is Harris County Judge Ed Emmett & Gwen Emmett. The main event is chaired by Philamena and Arthur Baird, Nidhika and Pershant Mehta, Leena and Ash Shah, Anuradha and Mani Subramanian.
