Women On Top!
I feel very privileged living in Houston, as over the years I have witnessed women excelling in various fields, in this multicultural city. From having a female Mayor to now a powerful campaign by the District 26 Candidates. Texas might be known as a conservative state but the women here are making significant and powerful progress.
Recently Jacquie Chaumette Mayor Pro Tem of Sugar Land, Texas and Candidate for State Representative, HD 26 was in the limelight, as a fundraiser event was hosted for her at the residence of Cindy and Bob Siegel that was chaired by Corbett Daniel Parker. Present at the event as a special guest was State representative Sarah Davis HD 134.
Jacquie has been trying to reach out to every individual to let them know to mark May 29th and to get out and vote. She is focusing on four key factors: Water, Transportation, Education and Infrastructure.
Also spotted on Friday as the Mistress of Ceremonies for Child Advocates of Fort Bend’s Light of Hope Ceremony at Sugar Land, Texas. “April marks the beginning of Child Abuse Prevention Month and it is so important that we stand together and make a strong statement against an epidemic that not only threatens so many of our children, but the future of our community,” says Jacquie.
She has been working very hard as the competition is quite tough as she races with prominent candidates like Fort Bend ISD trustee Sonal Bhuchar, former GOP County Chair Rick Miller, and real estate agent Diana Miller.
Meanwhile a handful of beautiful ladies from a diverse group gathered on a Friday afternoon for a fashionable lunch at the chic Tony’s Restaurant. Lebanese beauty Yasmine Haddad hosted this luncheon affair for receiving the position of Assistant Professor at the UT school of Dentistry. “I will start my faculty position in the fall semester. They want me to teach Physiology, Biomedial Sciences, and Clinical Dentistry,” informed Haddad.
Yasmine seemed very excited upon taking charge, she holds two degrees and feels very confident to teach both science and clinical courses. “I am very grateful and happy to serve as a faculty at the school from which I graduated,” adds Yasmine.
Amongst the fashionable ladies Miriam Habib, Gabriela Dror, Rania Shabib Edlibi, Ghada Ali, Mehrnaz S. Gill and Sarah Ghaoui.
