True, Valentine’s Day. But wait, this is Riccardo Cocci and Yulia Zagoruychenko, Latin World Ballroom Dance Champions, showcasing their talents at Connie Kwan-Wong’s 1st Annual Ballroom Dance Extravaganza, which will be held on February 11, 2012 from 6:30-9:45 pm at the elegant Villa Rinata on Chimney Rock.

In addition to performances by Riccardo and Yulia, the event features tremendous performances by Houston’s finest professional ballroom dancers as well as an amateur ballroom dance competition. This evening will include a four-star, three-course meal, a variety of delicious hors d’oeuvres, as well as cocktails, wine and an extravagant dessert buffet. And finally everyone will have a chance to dance the night away.

All profits raised from this event will benefit Children Defense’s Fund, which is a non-profit child advocacy organization that has worked relentlessly for over 35 years to lift children out of poverty, protect them from abuse and neglect, and ensure their access to health care, quality education and a moral and spiritual foundation.

Riccardo Cocchi and Yulia Zagoruychenko began dancing together in the fall of 2007, taking the ballroom world by storm and captivating audiences with their unique Latin style. Riccardo and Yulia’s mesmerizing look, incredible technical aptitude, and vivacious dynamism quickly made them a favorite among both fans and judges alike. They are two-time World Professional Champions; #1 Ranked Professional Latin Dancers in the world and five-time undefeated U.S. National Professional Latin Champions.

The organizer of this event is well known Houston Chinese TV personality, philanthropist, and socialite Connie Kwan-Wong, who has created this amazing event to address the needs that countless Houston children face, from poverty to hunger to abuse and neglect.
