Asia Society Texas Center Sneak Peak with a VIP crowd
Prominent Indian American power couple Nidhika and Pershant Mehta hosted a VIP reception of cocktails and an early preview of the new Asia Society Texas Center in the heart of Houston’s Museum District. The event was well attended by the elite of Houston town comprising of donors, media and other supporters of the Houston community.
Designed by architect Yoshio Taniguchi, the Asia Society Texas Center will finally be inaugurated in Houston on April 14-15, 2012. This $48.4 million building began in 2010, this facility marks the transformational moment poised to play a vital role in linking Houston and Texas to the fastest growing region of the globe. The center will feature the 4000-square foot Louisa Stude Sarofim Gallery, the Brown Foundation Performing Arts Theater, the Edward Rudge Allen III Education Center, store and cafe, and other amenities. The main purpose of the facility will be a public place for the City’s diverse communities, especially Asian American groups. A 40,000-square-foot architecturally spectacular possession for Houston.
Spotted mesmerized touring the facility, Susan Bogio, Nat and Leela Krishnamurthy, Bobby and Priti Singh, Meena Dutt, Divya and Chris Brown along with Hasti Taghi. Also making a presence Gabriela and Daniel Dror, Yasmine Haddad, Y. Ping Sun and David Leebron, Sudha and Ravi Mani, Sangeeta Pasrija, and many others. During the reception Martha Blackwelder, Executive Director of Asia Society offered a preview of the Treasures of Asian Art: A Rockefeller Legacy exhibition, the launch will be offered to the public with the grand opening of the facility in April.
