Who cares if it is a mid-week work day when Ayna Sehgal hosted a fabulous viewing party of her jewelry line, Miss Hollywood Jewelry, that drew an enthusiastic audience of pretty ladies to the reception room at Narin’s Bombay Brasserie in the Galleria area. Guests eagerly tried on, exchanged opinions, and bought the gorgeous handmade pieces from the line that Ayna Sehgal carefully hand-picked from across the globe.
The invitation-only shoppers sipped on wine and were also treated to delicious Indian fare like chicken shashlik, vegetable Samosas and chicken manchurian and viewed the grand collection in the jewelry box of the royals of India. “In my collection, I use a lot of beaded work with neutral colors such as white, black and cream to vibrant shades of oranges, fuchsia, and turquoise. A big staple piece of the Indian culture is coral. Miss Hollywood Jewelry carries long coral and turquoise necklaces and beautifully hand-crafted turquoise rings,” explains curator of Miss Hollywood Jewelry Ayna Sehgal. “If I don’t make the piece myself, then I handpick it myself from India. I take pride in every piece that I sell,” she adds.

Stacking bracelets is a popular trend for fashionistas and the “Meena Bracelet” is great for that. It’s a stretch bracelet with hand-made acrylic “Meena Beads” intertwined with Swarovski crystals! The Meena bracelets have been a great hit this season and can be worn anytime of the year. Its origin is in Rajasthan, India and the bead itself is acrylic with inlay work.
Also a trend this season, earrings and rings like the “Flower Power” hat have cascading gold plated flowers adorned with tiny multi-colored crystals. To complete the look, don’t forget the “Kundan Ring” which is hand-made metal with a semi-precious stone in the middle.
