Houston Grand Opera (HGO) hosted its cocktail reception on Tuesday at the F Bar in Midtown. It was HGO’s Out at the Opera that connects members and friends of Houston’s Gay Lesbian Bisexual Transgender (GLBT) Community.
The main purpose of the evening was to create a direct and tangible link to Houston Grand Opera through uniquely fabulous activities, meet friends or make new ones as they introduced their new season-long events starting from November 2011 till May 2012.
Guests were treated to opera themed drink specials like Rosina, Violetta (a French Martini) and Poor Mary (A really spicy bloody mary) all for $5.
Steve Kelley, Director of Marketing at the Houston Grand Opera was very thrilled to make the announcements and informed that the season was filled with exciting events. “I have very high expectations as Houston truly is very rich in art and culture,” says Steve.
Mingling with the crowd I was happy to learn that Houston has high potential for bold, unconventional opera themes. “We are very lucky as Houston has such a diverse group of cultures and art is truly appreciated. HGO is ahead of the times and is always ready to experiment,” says James Byrne with the Houston Grand Opera. For more information http://www.houstongrandopera.org/out.
