The NASHA Buzz… Cultural Intoxication!
The excitement is on! The stage is set! Performers waiting for the action! On Saturday April 2, 2011 University of Houston’s Indian Student Association is thrilled to host its fourth annual cultural and talent show NASHA at the Cullen Performance Hall. This competition style performance will feature various Indian dancers, singers, and other local performers sharing India’s culture with the Houston community. Various styles of dances like Raas, Bhangra, Bollywood Fusion, Classical as well as A-Capella groups will be competing for cash prizes. A Bollywood style three hour long entertainment.
The comedian and emcee for the evening Tushar Singh gave a sneak peak of the event. “I am all pumped up to witness a cultural blast,” says Tushar. “I am motivated to be a part of this program that brings both entertainment and cultural diversity of India together,” he continues. The emcee claims to have had a dramatic childhood but which Indian does not? He plans to let loose with the audience, make them laugh, and make connection with the event. A huge fan of veteran actor Amitabh Bachchan and old school music, Tushar is looking forward to some thrill, drama, fashion and loads of comedy.
Giving in depth insight about the event, Nehal Verma, Executive Advisor for Indian Students Association UH, said that with the help and support of the community this is the fourth year for NASAHA and “we hope to have many more,” says Nehal.
It has taken almost six months in planning and publicizing for the event, but is all worth it as it has grown to be one of the most anticipated events at the University of Houston.
Proud Cougars would once again like to welcome everyone this Saturday April 2nd for Nasha 2011.
Seating is at 6:15pm, show starts at 7pm.
