Brownstones Homes At City Center Open Doors for Women, Fashion and Charity
International Women’s Day was celebrated in style where young men and women gathered for a good cause. It was an evening of wine, cheese and fashion. HEMLINE Rice Village boutique showcased their spring collection dresses and accessories and also gave away 20% discount cards to the guests. An interesting evening sharing experiences and thoughts about South Asian women in Houston. Talking about role models University of Houston President Renu Khator made it to the top list for being an inspiration.
The highlight of the evening was to raise awareness and support for Indian born News/Feature Journalist Ruchi Mukherjee, Candidate 2011 Man/Woman of the Year for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate candidates engage in a spirited ten-week fundraising competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s ‘Man & Woman of the Year’ titles, by raising funds and awareness for blood cancer research.
Seen at the event, Munir Ibrahim past president of the South Asian Chamber of Commerce and now with Asian American Family Service and many other charity organizations, Shubhra Ghosh a rotarian, Munira Panjwani, Mobi Siddiqui of Moghul Restaurant, Becky Barbour HEMLINE and many others.
