Come join an evening of Bollywood glitz and glam. DJ Samia and TV Asia/Lights Camera Action host Ruchi Mukherjee are rolling out the red carpet for an “Ode to Bollywood”.

Guests are encourage to dress as their favorite bollywood character or actor from the ’60s to the present at this rocking costume themed party.

Prizes for Best Dressed Couple and Best Dressed Male and Female. There will be Bollywood trivia and a sizzling dance performance by international belly dancer, Sahira. Complimentary appetizers and free parking will be available.

All the proceeds will benefit The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Each year, in communities across the country, dynamic, passionate candidates engage in a spirited ten-week fundraising competition to earn The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s “Man & Woman of the Year” titles, by raising funds and awareness for blood cancer research. Ruchi Mukherjee is one amongst the eight candidates nominated to compete for the Woman of the Year 2011 title.

The Boy & Girl of the Year are local children battling blood cancers who serve as motivation and inspiration to Man & Woman of the Year candidates in their competition to raise funds and win the titles. This year’s boy is Brendon and girl is Emma.

More than the title Ruchi is passionate to spread the cause and raise awareness and funds so that there can be more survivors.

The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society has helped Brendon and Emma’s family through financial assistance and education programs. The organization really is the light at the end of the tunnel!!!
