Dance Baby Dance
If you had any doubts about Houston’s art and culture scene think twice. A team of enthusiastic and dedicated students with only one mission and that is to provide a platform to all students to share, experience and spread the rich Indian cultural heritage.
The Indian Student Association (ISA) here at the University of Houston is very enthusiastically bringing together a talent show called “Nasha 2011” at the Cullen Performance Hall on Saturday April 2, 2011.
The show will feature various Indian dancers, singers, and other local performers sharing India’s culture with the Houston community. Various styles of dances like Raas, Bhangra, Bollywood Fusion, Classical as well as A-Capella groups will be competing for cash prizes.
This year’s competition is shaping up to be quite challenging as there has been participation of groups from outside of Houston and Texas. These cultural competitions are generously funded by the community, however they are in constant search for support with funds.
ISA is providing an umbrella to bring like minded people under one roof to help maintain their identity as Indo Americans and further enrich the entire Houston community.
