Tiny Tots, glamorous mommies and daddies flocked to the Children’s Museum of Houston this Saturday evening on December 11, 2010 as PaperCity Magazine and Children’s Museum of Houston celebrated their Fifth Annual ‘Home Sweet Home’ Gingerbread Bash.
The evening had the perfect Christmas spirit with Santa Claus photo ops, red & green decor, a walking Mr & Mrs Snowman, and plenty of activities to keep Santa’s elves busy. Kids enjoyed designing their own gingerbread houses while adults participated in the auction of the one of a kind masterpiece gingerbread house designed by local chefs. “It has been absolutely a pleasure designing the house,” commented Gingerbread House Chef Sonia Trevino.
The event Honorary Chairs Michael and Melissa Mithoff were most definetely successful in bringing together the spirit of the season, filled with laughter, as the whole family enjoyed cocktails and dinner provided by Carrabba’s; and Green Plate Kids Lisa N. Ponds enticed the kids with her delicious cookies.
Henry Yau, PR & Promotions Director at the Children’s Museum expressed his gratitude and content regarding the turn out of the event. The holiday masterpieces were auctioned off to the highest bidders and proceeds benefit educational exhibits and programs at CMH. Close to 300 people in attendance, the Gingerbread Bash raised $21,000 for the programs and exhibits at the Museum. “The Children’s Museum of Houston is committed to transforming communities through innovative, child centered learning,” added Henry.
Overall a great society event that can be enjoyed with kids as they brush up on their social skills with only $25 for adults while you pay $15 for the kids.
